UGMK's Uchalinsky ups copper, zinc concentrate output
The Uchalinsky GOK, a mining and concentrating subsidiary of Russia's Urals Mining and Metallurgical Company, or UGMK, increased its copper concentrate output in January-April, UGMK said Wednesday.
Copper concentrate output increased by 3.5% in the Jan-April period, compared with the corresponding period last year, to 109,200 metric tons.
The copper content in the produced concentrate was 16,380 tons.
Uchalinsky increased its zinc concentrate output also during the same period by 9.1% to 90,555 tons, with a zinc content of 40,750 tons.
During the period, Uchalinsky mined 1.578 million tons of ore, 2.5% more than in Jan-April 2005.
Also the Sibaisky GOK, which is a subsidiary of the Uchalinsky GOK, produced in Jan-April 26,528 tons of copper concentrate, compared with about 10,600 tons in Jan-April 2005.
Sibaisky mined 110,000 tons of ore during the period, compared with 52,400 tons a year ago.
